Real Life
So you may notice that we have a few new things going on here. New colors, new look, new everything! It's called being refreshed! Usually at this point of the year I am ready to run to the Bahamas and sit on a beach and not do ANYTHING but this year is totally different for some reason. For one, I don't want to put the camera down at all. I just want to keep shooting whatever I can whenever I can. I am getting to do some big things right now from possible destination work to a local magazine we've been shooting for. I even scored my first magazine cover (image still needs to be shot though...lol) It's just awesome and I can't be thankful enough for the doors God has been opening for NGP. We've also been blogging a lot more and that's been a blast. A HUGE point we have been trying to work on lately is photographing events as they are happening or "real life". I was trained for years to shoot very traditional, meaning, I wasn't given a lot of creative freedom when I once worked with other local pros and the whole time I was thinking to myself, "This isn't real". I am forcing someone to ACT on there wedding day and not allowing them to be real. Yes, we still do a lot of slightly posed work but for those of you who have had weddings with us lately I think you'll agree that we are VERY kick back on the wedding days and we really do let things just happen, yet, in a scheduled kind of way. That's what I'm talking about in being "real life". Every single wedding photographer that I know who calls themselves a wedding photojournalist still has to do some slight posing regardless of what they say. Let's be REAL and lets have fun. The images will have so much more feeling to them I promise. Again, so many thanks to all of our AMAZING friends and clients. Keep it REAL!
